Thugs Beat Man They Thought Was Gay, Police Involvement

This is a perfect case of a man who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

A man is fighting for his life after he was beaten by a gang of thugs who they thought was gay.
Lionel Parkes, 31, was walking along Upper Waterloo Road around 9pm, towards Devon House to visit his girlfriend, when he was caught in the middle of a brawl between thugs and a group of gay homeless men at the Cholera cemetery.

Parkes was beaten to a pulp and is now on life support at the Intensive Care Unit at the Kingston Public Hospital.

According to his mother, she received a call from the hospital informing her that her son was there.

“I was called by someone from KPH. The only thing the nurse told me was I must bring some identification to come and identify Lionel, and that it is ‘very urgent’. When I saw his face? I was broken. They beat my son till he was unconscious,”.

Parked wasn't the only on injured during the brawl. A 24-year-old identified has Asheen Walford, was also beaten into a coma.

She also claim that police officers didn't try to help her son and denied her son his gay.

“Before the police stop the men from killing my son; eyewitnesses tell me how the police step up inna my youth’s chest, all inna him face! ‘Batty boy fi dead, win uh rate batty boy’ dem seh,”
“God believe me, my son isn’t a fish (a derogatory term for gay), my son was on him way to Devon House fi meet a girl,”
