Harvard University Added Jamaican Patois Has Curriculum


Jamaican Patois is being offered as a official course at Harvard University.
The prestigious world acclaimed university is now offering students the opportunity to participate in the individualized study of Jamaican Patois at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. 
The course is only offered when students demonstrate academic need, Harvard describes the language course as an: “Individualized study of Jamaican Patois at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.” 
Genesee Johnson will be teaching the course. The course will also explore the elementary, intermediate and advance levels of the Patois language that has a blend of English and West African languages. Students will also read Jamaican literacy to help them fully immerse in the culture, as well.
