Convict Murderer Killed In Shoot Out

A convict killer who escaped custody two years ago was shot and killed in a shoot-out with police.

Dead is murder convict Omar Creary. He was shot yesterday morning in Mount James in St. Andrew after escaping prison two years.
A pistol and several rounds of ammunition were taken from his body.
Creary was serving a life sentence for the January 2002 murder of retired Senior Superintendent of Police Albert Richards when he escaped from Horizon Adult Remand Centre in April 2014. While locked up, he and another inmate escaped from the high-security prison on Spanish Town Road by crawling through a vent, before scaling a section of the perimeter fence.
Numerous attempts were made to capture Creary but he eluded them, with the help of his cronies.
