Taxi Operator Involved In Human Trafficking Released


A taxi operator who was under investigation for his involvement in human trafficking was released last week due to lack of evidence.


The cabbie whose name was withheld from the public, was released by the St. Catherine South Police after being question for about his involvement in a prostitution ring involving two teenage girls.

 The taxi driver was arrested on July 25, during a sting operation along Port Henderson Road, also known has “Black Road’ in St. Catherine.

During the sting operation the taxi driver was found with two 15-year old girls in his company.

According to the cabbie, he met the girls, one who was reported missing from St. Ann on social media and promised both girls jobs.
